We are celebrating Autumn Equinox with rituals on two beautiful Donegal beaches in Ireland. On the day before the Equinox we found ourselves on a cliff-side beach full of black and white stones that seemed to symbolize the balance of darkness and light, so we made this spontaneous mandala in gratitude for the beauty all around.
On the Equinox, after a windy, rainy morning we drove farther north along the coast and arrived at a magical beach of large white cobbles with small colored stones between them, so we were inspired to use one of the large stones as a canvas upon which to make an equinoctal black and white Celtic cross, as an offering in gratitude for this wonderful pilgrimage that is drawing to a close.
